What started in a single kitchen with one churn and one stubbornly perfect vanilla recipe has grown into a beloved brand serving customers across the island. We're still family-owned—and we wouldn't have it any other way.

How It All Started

A Recipe Worth Sharing

In 1987, our grandfather, Errol "Scoopy" Bellfield, set up a small ice cream shop with a hand-cranked churn, a chalkboard menu, and an unshakable belief: that ice cream made with real ingredients—real cream, real fruit, real care—simply tastes better.

He was right. Word spread quickly through the neighborhood, then the parish, then beyond. What started as a weekend hobby became a family business, with his children rolling up their sleeves alongside him.

Today, Scoopy's is run by his son and daughter, with the third generation already learning the trade. The recipes haven't changed. Neither have our standards.

Our Journey

From One Churn to an Island-Wide Brand

1987

The First Churn

Errol "Scoopy" Bellfield opens a small ice cream shop with a hand-cranked churn and a single vanilla recipe.

1995

The Family Joins In

Errol's children come on full-time. Production moves out of the original shop and into a dedicated kitchen.

2003

First Wholesale Partner

A local grocer asks if we'd stock their freezers. We say yes—and our wholesale story begins.

2010

Kingston Hub Opens

Our first full distribution facility opens, allowing us to serve partners across the Corporate Area reliably.

2017

Going Island-Wide

Montego Bay and Mandeville hubs open. Scoopy's becomes available in every parish across Jamaica.

Today

The Third Generation

Errol's grandchildren are now part of the team, learning the family craft and shaping what Scoopy's looks like for the next 40 years.
